Gore Hill Freeway
1992

The project a 3.1 km section of freeway, with passes through Sydney's lower North Shore, leading onto the Harbour Bridge. This project pioneered sound walls as both art and architecture incorporating abstract road motifs in bas relief concrete and historical designs by Walter Burley Griffin. The Language reinterprets local aboriginal rock engravings chipped into the ribbed retaining walls.
